UAE Government, Fujairah to implement Zero Government Bureaucracy Program, Global Star Rating System

Partnership aims to streamline services and improve the quality of life for citizens 

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, emphasized that the collaboration between the UAE Government and the Government of Fujairah in implementing the Zero Government Bureaucracy Program along with the Global Star Rating System for services signifies a significant advancement in governmental modernization. This initiative reflects the directives of the wise leadership aimed at developing a more efficient, flexible, and proactive government service system that enhances the quality of life for society.

H.H. stated, “Today, we launched a partnership between the UAE Government and the Government of Fujairah to implement the Zero Government Bureaucracy Program and the Global Star Rating System for Services. We have instructed all entities to focus on improving service quality and providing a simplified experience that makes life easier for people.”

Vision for government modernization

H.H. highlighted the vision of the Government of Fujairah, guided by H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah. He stressed the importance of simplifying and facilitating procedures, placing people at the heart of governmental development. Achieving this goal requires integrated efforts and the application of innovative programs in government service procedures, aligned with societal aspirations and bolstering the state’s competitiveness and future leadership.

This announcement was made during the Crown Prince of Fujairah’s attendance at the launch of the partnership between the UAE Government and the Government of Fujairah.

Moreover, under this partnership, the Government of Fujairah will implement the Zero Government Bureaucracy Program and the Global Star Rating System for Government Services. This initiative is further aimed at enhancing the integration of federal and local governments and promoting the adoption of exemplary governmental models at the local level.

It reflects the UAE leadership’s vision to anticipate the future and upgrade government work models according to established international standards.

Enhancing government performance

During the launch ceremony, which was attended by Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, an agreement was signed to outline the framework for activating the partnership between the UAE Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Government of Fujairah in applying the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme and the Global Star Rating System for services.

The agreement was further signed by Sheikh Eng. Mohammed bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, director-general of Fujairah Digital Government, and Mohammed bin Taliah, chief of Government Services of the United Arab Emirates Government.

Mohammed Al Gergawi reiterated that the adoption of the Zero Government Bureaucracy Program and the Global Star Rating System for services by the Government of Fujairah represents a qualitative enhancement to the UAE Government’s ongoing efforts to reimagine the service system and improve governmental performance.

He also noted that this integrated partnership confirms a strong commitment to accelerating the transition towards a more efficient, flexible, high-performing, and productive government model.

The UAE Government launched the Zero Government Bureaucracy Program in November 2023, marking a new phase of government operations aimed at enhancing efficiency, quality, and flexibility through the simplification of procedures. The Global Star Rating System for Services was initially introduced in 2011 to redefine government service delivery and was upgraded in 2019 to incorporate new standards.
