The exhibition utilizes millions of photographs of the natural world, alongside satellite imagery and meteorological data

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, as well as Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai and the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), has inaugurated an innovative new exhibition at the Museum of the Future.

This pioneering immersive experience, titled ‘Earth Dreams’, made its debut on the ‘Tomorrow, Today’ floor during the week of the Dubai Future Forum. His Highness toured the exhibition, which offers a remarkable journey exploring the convergence of art, technology, and nature.

Immersive data paintings

‘Earth Dreams’ comprises a series of immersive data paintings that envision a new reality, where human memory, machine intelligence, and the rhythms of nature coexist harmoniously. In addition, developed by Refik Anadol Studio in collaboration with the Museum of the Future, this unprecedented exhibition utilizes millions of photographs of the natural world, alongside satellite imagery and meteorological data. Through the use of over 30 projectors and generative AI models, Anadol further animates these elements to create a visual symphony that showcases the beauty and intricacies of our planet.

Unique architecture and cutting-edge projection technology

In alignment with the Museum of the Future’s mission to nurture imagination and possibility, ‘Earth Dreams’ reinterprets the intricate relationship between technological and artistic innovation in the era of Artificial Intelligence. Furthermore, this collaboration harnesses the museum’s unique architecture and cutting-edge projection technology to deliver an AI-driven, interactive, and immersive exhibition that harmonizes with the museum’s iconic design. Additionally, the artwork unfolds across three chapters, presenting a novel form of synesthetic storytelling that invites visitors to experience a dream-like fragmentation and an expansive, dynamic web of interconnections.
