Sharjah’s DCDF teams up with Oxford University and Birmingham University

Sharjah’s Regional Data and Community Development Forum (DCDF) has partnered with Saïd Business School at Oxford University and Birmingham University.

The forum, scheduled on October 9th and 10th, will be organized by Sharjah’s Department of Statistics and Community Development (DSCD). Saïd Business School at Oxford University ranked first in the 2024 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, while Birmingham University shines among the top 100 globally.

Under the partnerships, eight specialized data training workshops will be conducted, with an aim to equip the coming generation of data experts with the knowledge and capabilities required to meet the international standards. This comes as part of the forum’s comprehensive agenda, which comprises 24 workshops in total.

These partnerships mark a key step, paving the way for advanced knowledge transfer and capacity development within the data sector. The workshops will feature expert trainers from these esteemed institutions to provide participants with a world-class learning experience, tailored to the emerging demands of the data landscape.

The specialized training workshops will run over two days, covering a range of topics related to data. This includes AI technologies, privacy and compliance considerations, ethical use of technologies, and data analysis and protection, among others. After completions, participants will be rewarded with accredited certificates.

The two-day forum will explore the theme ‘Driving Change’, with more than 60 activities, highlighting the data’s key role in enhancing healthcare, education, infrastructure, sustainability, technology, and business.

The program will feature around 18 talks and speeches, 20 panel discussions, 24 specialized workshops, and an exhibition hosting more than 10 entities presenting the latest technologies and innovative data solutions.
