The brand-new visa is open for business, leisure and religious travellers.
Travel to Saudi Arabia has just got easier. The kingdom has introduced a new Stopover Visa, which is open for business, leisure and religious travellers. Visitors can stay in the country for up to 96 hours and it includes one complimentary night in a hotel. Here’s how to make the most of Saudi Arabia’s Stopover Visa.
Saudi Arabia’s Stopover Visa is free and open to a wide range of countries. Travellers will be able to use the Stopover Visa to visit the kingdom for its cultural or historical sights, entertainment or sports events, and even religious pilgrims. Visitors who plan to perform Umrah, must register on the Nusuk platform.
There is one catch for Saudi Arabia’s Stopover Visa – visitors must travel to their final destination on one of the national carriers, flynas or Saudia. The Stopover Visa application is available through flynas and Saudia’s booking platforms. The application process takes a matter of minutes, and can be applied for up to 90 days in advance. The stopover can be made at any airport in the kingdom. Plus, if you’ve booked your flight with Saudia, then you can take advantage of a complimentary one-night hotel stay.
Fahd Hamidaddin, CEO and Member of the Board at Saudi Tourism Authority, explained: “Today’s announcement of Saudi’s inaugural Stopover Visa is a landmark example of integrated public and private sector cooperation. Four of the Top Ten global routes were in or out of Saudi airports in 2022, a testament to the appeal of destination Saudi.
“Saudi is committed to a seamless visitor experience. In partnership with our national air carriers, SAUDIA and Flynas, we are using digital platforms to provide an instant Stopover Visa, which only enhances Saudi’s accessibility and our world-class destination offering.”
If you’re wondering what to do during a Saudi stopover, then read out 24, 48 or 72 hours in Riyadh itinerary. Adventure awaits.
