Response Plus specializes in pre-hospital care, while Burjeel Holdings leads in private healthcare services
Health, as the saying goes, is wealth. In the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region — where countries implement various strategies to achieve economic prosperity — ensuring accessible and high-quality healthcare also remains a critical focus. At the helm of transforming the healthcare landscape are innovation-driven organizations such as Response Plus Holding PJSC (RPM) and Burjeel Holdings.
In this interview, Omran Al Khoori, chairman of RPM, and member of the board of directors at Burjeel Holdings, talks about how both entities boost accessibility to quality medical and healthcare services. He also talks about the cutting-edge solutions they deliver to meet the growing needs of the region and beyond.

Can you share with us the goal behind the acquisition of Prometheus Medical and how it will benefit the company?
As mentioned, RPM is constantly seeking growth opportunities in new markets and sectors. In line with this vision, RPM’s acquisition of the UK-headquartered Prometheus Medical International was a strategic move, offering us added capabilities in military and defense medical training and consultancy, the energy sector, VIP concierge medical services, and pre-hospital care solutions.
In line with our global expansion plans, the acquisition opens up new verticals and other global markets for RPM, including the UK and Europe. We have integrated Prometheus expertise into our robust offerings as part of our ongoing mission to deliver exceptional healthcare solutions across the region and beyond.
Response Plus’ listing on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and its status as a global micro-cap company on the FTSE Global Equity Index Series reflects its growth ambitions. What are your key priorities for further growth and market expansion in 2025?
We see significant potential in the GCC, and there is a growing need for our specialized pre-hospital services. We are also actively working on building on our capabilities in emergency care, training and consultancy, medical logistics, and event support across different industries.
RPM is also investing in cutting-edge technologies, Artificial Intelligence, and health monitoring wearable devices to boost patient outcomes, empower patients, optimize efficiency, and expand its reach to provide holistic care.
You also sit as a member of the board of directors at Burjeel Holdings. It’s one of the largest healthcare services providers in the region. What are your key objectives for Burjeel Holdings? Can you highlight projects that are in the pipeline?
In 2024, we have made significant strides in strengthening our presence in the UAE. We’ve opened new day surgery and medical centers in the UAE to enhance access to quality healthcare services. In 2025, our focus remains on broadening our reach within the UAE. This includes the opening of additional centers, with special attention on expanding our presence in the Northern Emirates and launching a state-of-the-art hospital in Dubai.
Additionally, we’ve made substantial progress in enhancing our super-specialty offerings. For example, we’ve introduced Burjeel Cancer Institute (BCI) and Trust Fertility Clinic, the largest IVF center in the UAE, which represent a cornerstone of our strategy to elevate specialized care. This year, we will also continue to focus on expanding these super-specialty capabilities, particularly through the growth of our oncology network and other high-impact areas, such as organ transplantation, mother-and-child care, and orthopedics.
Looking at Saudi Arabia, we are excited about our upcoming projects, which include the launch of our first-day surgery centers that will further strengthen our presence in the kingdom. Additionally, we are advancing innovative initiatives, such as AlKalma, our unique mental health and wellness solution.
These projects align with our broader vision to deliver accessible and innovative healthcare solutions across the region. Our objectives at Burjeel Holdings are clear: To expand access to advanced healthcare, enhance super-specialty offerings, and continue leading in healthcare innovation across the MENA region. With a strong pipeline of projects, we are well-positioned to drive growth and impact lives across the communities we serve.
