Kuwait and Japan agreed to raise the level of bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership. This came in a recent statement issued by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as part of the official visit of His Highness Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al Hamad Al-Sabah to Japan.
During the visit, H.H. the Kuwaiti Crown Prince held official talks with Japan’s Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, which focused on bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them in various fields, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

H.H. the Crown Prince met with Japanese Emperor Naruhito on Thursday, conveying warm greetings and best wishes from H.H. the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to the Emperor and the Japanese people.
The meeting highlighted the strong historic relations between the two countries over the past six decades, showcasing significant advancements across various fields that reflect the aspirations of both nations.

Later, H.H. the Crown Prince held discussions with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba on strengthening bilateral relations in key areas to support mutual interests amid regional and international changes. They agreed that enhancing cooperation in political, economic, and humanitarian sectors aligns with their shared commitment to promoting security, stability, and prosperity.


The talks were preceded by an official reception ceremony, including a military parade and the playing of both nations’ national anthems. During this reception, H.H. the Crown Prince expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and generous hospitality, extending best wishes from H.H. the Amir Sheikh Meshal to Japan and its people.
