The Jeddah Historic District Program has announced the official opening of the first three heritage hotels in the area. Under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Al Balad Development Company, a Public Investment Fund (PIF) company, the program restored and rehabilitated these hotels. The restoration of the hotels preserved their unique architectural features with the international standards and the guidelines of  The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

UNESCO recognized the Jeddah Historic District as a World Heritage Site in 2014. Under its guidance, the program meticulously restored and rehabilitated these hotels. Al Balad Development Company will manage and operate the hotels as part of a package that includes 34 heritage buildings.

Distinctive heritage hotels

The three heritage hotels in the Jeddah Historic District underwent careful restorations with a modern vision. Each building offers guests a unique experience, shedding light on the area’s rich history. Moreover, each one showcases distinctive architectural designs that reflect the cultural diversity of Jeddah.

The Jeddah Historic District’s three heritage hotels include Beit Jokhdar, Beit Al-Rayes, and Beit Kedwan. What sets Beit Jokhdar apart is its ornate wooden balconies. Beit Jokhdar boasts some of the largest balconies in the region, offering guests a glimpse into the craftsmanship of the past. Meanwhile, Beit Al-Rayes stands out for its interior design. All of its rooms overlook a beautiful courtyard surrounded by columns topped with stone arches. On the other hand, Beit Kedwan is distinguished by its location near Naseef Square in the Al-Alawi Market.
