flydubai launches direct flights from Dubai to Neom

Plus, there are flights to Saudi Arabia’s Al Qaisumah, Jizan and Narjan.

If you dream about time travelling into the future, a visit to Saudi Arabia’s Neom might be the closest thing. The megaproject will be home to futuristic features, from flying taxis to a glow-in-the-dark moon. Now, travel to the new location will be easier, as flydubai have announced direct flights from Dubai to Neom, and other locations in the kingdom.

flydubai is the third airline to operate flights to Neom Bay Airport, which opened in 2019. The Dubai to Neom flights will begin on 16 March and will take place twice per week. Plus, in the future, Saudi Arabia is expected to launch a premium airline, which is currently called Ria and is expected to fly to Neom. 

flydubai will also serve other locations in Saudi Arabia, which include Al Qaisumah, Jizan and Narjan. Dubai to Al Qaisumah flights begin from 18 March, Dubai to Jizan flights begin from 21 March, and Dubai to Narjan flights begin from 26 April. Al Qaisumah flights will take place twice per week, Jirzan flights will take place four times per week, and Narjan flights will take place three times per week. 

Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer at flydubai, explained: “flydubai remains committed to opening up underserved markets and so we are pleased to offer our customers more options for travel with the launch of these four destinations. As Saudi Arabia continues on its path of economic growth and investment in developing its tourism sector, we look forward to offering passengers from the UAE and around our network the opportunity to explore more of the country.”

Upon completion, Neom will be the size of Belgium and sits north of the Red Sea coastline. The exciting developments also include Oxagan, Sindalah’s beaches and seas, The Line and Trojena’s mountainous slopes. 

Oxagon aims to be the world’s largest floating industrial complex. Sindalah island will be a luxurious retreat and include 413 hotels, 51 shops and 38 restaurants. The Line aims to be a 170km-long residential complex with zero cars, zero streets, zero carbon emissions and the world’s longest skyscraper, Mirror Line.
