Dubai’s RTA secures SAS UAE Award for AI innovation

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has secured SAS UAE Award for Innovative Transportation AI Use Cases.

This award reflects RTA’s efforts in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) in research and development related to traffic management solutions, and in developing many AI-based solutions and projects in collaboration with private sector and signing Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with leading global companies.

The RTA’s early investment in Big Data and AI solutions played a significant role in attracting this award. RTA has one of the largest Big Data platforms to collect and analyze the date at the required speed and quality, and dashboards that enable the management to make data-driven decisions.

The Corporate Al Platform under RTA enables date processing and training AI algorithms, facilitating the rapid development of AI models. This platform has tools to monitor the performance of AI. These enablers support RTA’s efforts to align with the goal of Dubai to emerge as the world’s smartest city by utilizing artificial intelligence to enhance the well-being of residents, promote sustainability and service efficiency,

The RTA, represented by the Smart Services Department in Corporate Technology Support Sector, has partnered with SAS in training Emiratis on AI applications and solutions, holding brainstorming workshops and benchmarks, and monitoring the use and adoption of AI technologies across the RTA.

This achievement shows RTA’s commitment to enhancing AI technologies and improving traffic management. Through this partnership with SAS, RTA is looking forward to emerging as a leader in technological advancements in the field of transportation.
