The Future Blockchain Summit 2024, the region’s premier large-scale blockchain event, is scheduled to unfold at the Dubai Harbour from October 13-16, 2024. As the leading event in the MENA region, it will gather over 1,200 investors, 120 exhibitors, and more than 150 speakers from over 50 countries, bringing together the blockchain and cryptocurrency ecosystem in one venue. This year’s summit, Dubai Media Office reported, aims to be a catalyst for innovative ideas and collaborations that will shape the future of blockchain technology and its influence on global industries.

Dubai: A Web3 hub

Dubai, recognized globally as a Web3 hub, provides an ideal environment for blockchain innovation, driven by its progressive government policies, comprehensive regulatory framework, and access to capital. Empowering innovation

Peter Brady, associate vice president of the Technology Cluster at the Dubai World Trade Centre, mentioned that the Future Blockchain Summit 2024 would serve as a dynamic platform focused on empowering innovators and stimulating growth within the sector. He further expressed excitement about bringing together the brightest minds and leaders to foster collaboration, inspire change, and strengthen Dubai’s position as a global leader in blockchain innovation.

Key discussions and insights

The 2024 summit will feature enlightening discussions on the intersection of blockchain with AI, the Internet of Things (IoT), and extended reality (XR). Leaders and innovators from Europe and North Africa will explore how these technologies are revolutionizing various industries. Participants will gain critical insights on the surge of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in safeguarding digital assets and redefining ownership paradigms, the tokenization of traditional assets and the rapid growth of decentralized finance (DeFi), poised to transform financial markets and open up new investment opportunities, as well as the significance of digital identities in the Web3 era. Additionally, this vital topic will be tackled by Brian Rose, Founder & Host of London Real, and Raido Saar, President of the Estonian Web3 Chamber. This session will highlight how blockchain facilitates self-sovereign identities, empowering individuals to manage their personal data and digital identity.

Exploring the metaverse

Key conversations will include a panel titled “Into the Metaverse,” featuring Sebastien Borget, co-founder & COO of The Sandbox, and Yat Siu, co-founder & executive chairman of Animoca Brands. They will examine blockchain’s impact on gaming, community-driven ecosystems, and the integration of AI, VR, and AR in crafting next-generation gaming experiences. The future of decentralized game development and the emergence of esports will also be discussed, offering attendees a thorough understanding of the gaming industry’s future.

Regulatory frameworks

Moreover, another essential session is the “Navigating Global Regulations” panel, which will compare regulatory environments across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, focusing on the role of compliance tools and regulatory sandboxes in facilitating experimentation and international collaboration.

Furthermore, this year’s summit is sponsored by industry leaders like Bitpanda, Coin W, DMCC, Fastex, Toobit, Sui, Coindesk Indices, M2, Fasset, and others, all of whom are at the forefront of blockchain innovation.
