Dubai Courts has launched ‘Smart Room’ project to enhance judicial services and improve accessibility for court users, aligning with Dubai Courts’ mission to deliver justice efficiently and elevate customer satisfaction.
Smart Room project, a key pillar in the Courts’ digital transformation strategy, was inaugurated by His Excellency Prof. Saif Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Director-General of Dubai Courts. The landmark project highlights the Dubai Government’s commitment to providing innovative public services, reinforcing the emirate’s position as a global hub for leadership and innovation.
His Excellency Mohammed Ahmad Al Obaidli, Executive Director of the Case Management Sector, stated that, “the Smart Room embodies Dubai Courts’ vision for pioneering innovation and providing proactive services that boost user confidence and satisfaction. It epitomizes our commitment to elevating the justice system through advanced technological solutions, supporting Dubai’s goal of building a fully integrated and sustainable digital society.”
The Smart Room will connect users with various branches, including the main building, Personal Status and Inheritance Court, Labour Court, Execution Court, and service centers. By leveraging smart technologies, the system streamlines judicial proceedings, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience.
Al Obaidli added that, “the Smart Room’s cutting-edge features, including an innovative design incorporating smart glass for privacy, soundproofing, and a suitable ventilation system with motion sensors to enhance user comfort and safety. The room also contains the latest smart devices, such as tablets, ID readers, electronic payment systems, display screens, staff summoning devices, and QR codes for easy document scanning and sharing.”
The system includes a range of innovative features such as real-time translation, an interactive user interface, video conferencing, digital payment and signing capabilities, all while adhering to the highest information security standards to ensure data protection and confidentiality.
Al Obaidli highlighted that Dubai Courts will manage the system via a comprehensive dashboard that monitors user activity and gauges real-time satisfaction. The system also securely stores and records video conversations for quality assurance, training, and process optimization.
Currently available in Dubai Courts’ main building, the Smart Room seeks to expand its use to the Personal Status and Inheritance, Labour, and Execution courts, with a focus on elevating user experience and providing a more streamlined and flexible service.
