The airline transported over 1.4 million passengers, resulting in an average passenger load factor of 84 percent
Etihad Airways has released its preliminary traffic data for April 2024. During the month, the Abu Dhabi-headquartered airline transported over 1.4 million passengers, resulting in an average passenger load factor of 84 percent.
In a statement, Etihad Airways revealed that they have carried approximately 5.7 million passengers in the first four months of 2024. Additionally, the airline’s fleet has grown to 89 aircraft, serving a total of 68 destinations worldwide.
Positive growth trajectory
According to Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, the company observed a significant increase in customers during April 2024, with a growth rate of 39 percent compared to the previous year.
This growth reinforces the positive trajectory that the company has been experiencing and has contributed to a four percent enhancement in the load factor, despite a notable rise in capacity compared to the same period in 2023, he added.
Neves also mentioned that the year-to-date passenger figures, which stand at 5.7 million, are 41 percent higher than the figures recorded in YTD April 2023.
Neves also emphasized that these numbers reflect strong financial results for the first quarter of 2024, with Q1 earnings equivalent to the total net income of the entire financial year 2023. These results underscore Etihad Airways’ unwavering dedication to resilience, customer service, and operational efficiency.
Moreover, Neves stated that the airline is persistently expanding its network and frequency to align with customer demand.
In April, Etihad Airways accomplished the successful reintroduction of their popular A380 aircraft on the New York route. Additionally, they announced their intention to include the A380 on flights to Paris starting from November 1st, Neves concluded.
