What do you consider to be your biggest milestones so far?
Dr. Saeed Al Thani: As the medical director and owner of Orthocure Medical Center, I consider several key milestones to be my biggest achievements so far. Firstly, the successful establishment and growth of Orthocure Medical Center, which has become a leading provider of orthopedic care in our community, is a significant milestone. This includes expanding our services to include state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment facilities, as well as assembling a team of highly skilled and dedicated medical professionals.
Another major milestone is the implementation of advanced medical technologies and treatment protocols that have significantly improved patient outcomes. For example, introducing minimally invasive surgical techniques and robotic-assisted knee, hip and shoulder surgery have allowed us to offer cutting-edge treatments that reduce recovery times and enhance the quality of life for our patients.
I am proud of our community outreach and education programs, which have raised awareness about orthopedic health and preventive care. These initiatives have not only helped to educate the public but have also strengthened our relationship with the community we serve. Dr. Saeed Al Thani: As Emirati doctors, we are proud to observe that the current state of medical practice and healthcare standards in the UAE has seen significant advancements over recent years.
The UAE has invested heavily in healthcare infrastructure, leading to the establishment of state-of-the-art medical facilities and the adoption of innovative medical technologies. Additionally, there has been a strong emphasis on medical education and continuous professional development, ensuring that healthcare professionals are well-trained and up to date with the latest medical practices.
The regulatory framework governing healthcare in the UAE is robust, with stringent standards and regular audits to ensure compliance and quality of care. This has resulted in high patient satisfaction and trust in the healthcare system. The UAE’s strategic initiatives, such as the promotion of medical tourism and partnerships with leading international healthcare institutions, have further elevated the standards of medical practice in the country. Besides what you learned in the classroom as a medical student, what were the other lessons while still studying that had a profound influence on your life as a doctor?
Dr. Ali Al Belooshi: While studying, I learned the importance of teamwork and collaboration. Medicine is rarely practiced in isolation, and the ability to work cohesively with colleagues from different specialties is invaluable. Another lesson was the significance of adaptability every patient is unique, and solutions often require innovative thinking. Finally, developing emotional resilience taught me to navigate the highs and lows of this demanding profession.
How can Emirati doctors contribute to nation-building?
Dr. Ali Al Belooshi: Emirati doctors play a vital role in nation-building by addressing public health challenges and fostering a culture of wellness. By participating in policymaking, leading research initiatives, and mentoring the next generation of medical professionals, we contribute to the UAE’s vision of becoming a global healthcare hub. Additionally, promoting health awareness and preventive care within the community strengthens the foundation of a healthier society.


What were some of the challenges you encountered as a doctor-entrepreneur, and how did you overcome them?
Dr. Ali Al Belooshi: With the support of Dubai SME, Orthocure has transformed orthopedic care since 2013. Now with two state-of-the-art clinics in Mirdif and Jumeirah, Orthocure has treated over 50,000 patients and performed 5,000+ surgeries.

Through this research, my goal is to contribute to evidence-based practices that enhance patient outcomes and improve healthcare delivery in the UAE. I hope the findings will inspire further studies and innovations, positioning the UAE as a leader in global medical research.
You have achieved many firsts in your profession. To what do you attribute your success? Who or what is your inspiration?
Dr. Ali Al Belooshi: I attribute my success to a combination of hard work, perseverance, and the unwavering support of my family and the UAE government.
