Sigma Capital launched a USD 100 million fund called Sigma Capital Fund I focused on Web3 startups. The fund is dedicated to accelerating the next wave of Web3 innovation across MENA and globally.
Sigma Capital is a global early stage venture capital firm focused on investing in innovative blockchain and cryptocurrency projects. They aim to reinforce the UAE’s emergence as a global Web3 and blockchain innovation hub alongside Singapore and Hong Kong.
The fund targets early stage investments in areas such as Decentralized Finance (DeFi), blockchain infrastructure, gaming, metaverse and real-word asset tokenization. They also manage a portfolio of liquid tokens to capitalize on market opportunities and consistently generate returns. Additionally, they employ high-yield DeFi strategies and invest in high-growth crypto venture funds to expand exposure to emerging Web3 innovations.
Future Plans
The venture capital firm plans to deploy the investment across 100 early stage projects, 25 liquid tokens and 10 fund allocations over the next three years. Moreover, they aim to collaborate with Web3 hubs across 10 global cities to enhance the fund’s portfolio and success.
