The aircrafts boast a dramatic design, local hospitality and state-of-the-art features.
There’s a new plane in the sky, and it comes courtesy of Saudi Arabia. Visitors can enter and exit the Kingdom in purple-style, thanks to the brand-new airline, Riyadh Air. The first flight takes off on 12 June, and we can’t wait to hop on board.
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz announced the launch of Riyadh Air, which connects the capital to more than 100 destinations. As the name suggests, the airline will operate from the capital, and make full use of the Kingdom’s location. The routes will reach as far as Africa, Asia and Europe. Plus, it plans to transform the city into a hub for transportation, trade and tourism, all in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
Riyadh Air recently unveiled its dramatic design. The aircrafts come in shades of dark and light purple. On the side of the vessel, the name is written in both Arabic and English and includes the R logo. We love that it is inspired by the Kingdom’s lavender fields, shades of indigo at night and the colour pantone 2655.
While Riyadh Air aims to be a world-class airline, Saudi Arabian hospitality will be at its heart. The brand will operate an advanced fleet of aircraft, which are equipped with the latest cutting-edge technology. Plus, it has set out to meet the highest sustainability and safety standards.
Riyadh Air is owned by Public Investment Fund. The airline is chaired by His Excellency Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Governor of PIF, and the Chief Executive Officer is Tony Douglas. Plus, senior management will include Saudi and international employees.
Strap in, it’s going to be an exciting ride.
